Registration of sea-going vessels and yachts

It is a familiar fact to people with sea-going investments: ships need well-conceived registration to receive fiscal benefits.

But the business of ships is not merely about registration. Knowledge of how to manage a ship-owning company, for example, this is important as well. Why? Because when outsourcing, one seeks the partner with mastery of the business at hand – not just experience with one part of the process.

Registration encompasses many sub-issues: selecting a flag to register a commercial ship. Fees and taxes. Ownership requirements. Manning requirements. Safety confirmation certificates. And there are other options to consider: some ship registers allow parallel (bareboat) registration of vessels. Two forms of bareboat registration exist: ‘parallel-in’ and ‘parallel-out’, offering different opportunities for leaseback, hire, purchase and finance arrangements. All these formalities: Intertrust has the experience in managing ship-owning companies and registering vessels. From reefer vessels to dry cargo ships. From offshore support vessels to FPSOs. From container carriers to tankers. We deliver the smooth, international network to guide you.
