Corporate citizenship

Through the Intertrust Foundation, we empower our people to help build a better society and drive peace and prosperity in the communities we support.

Back to about us

The Intertrust Foundation

In 2011, we established the Intertrust Foundation, providing opportunities for our employees to engage in pro-bono services, direct action and fund-raising initiatives. By partnering with locally established charities, non-profit and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), our people can make a difference for communities across the world, while expanding their own personal and cultural horizons.

Local initiatives

Each year our employees support many local initiatives, for instance: Make a Wish Foundation (NL), the Service Line Beach Clean Challenge (Jersey), Belong to Youth (Ireland), Victims Hurricane (Bahamas) and Wuhan Red Cross (China). Other locally supported organisations focus on areas such as homelessness, environmental protection, facilities for the blind, disaster relief, health and wellness, medical research and cultural preservation.

Global initiatives

Multi-year global partnerships are one way that we choose to maximise our impact as a company and support our ESG priorities, in particular our wish to increase education, reduce inequality and promote sustainable economic growth and employment in local communities.

Between 2017 and 2020, employees voted to support SOS Children’s Village in the launch of a No Business As Usual programme, giving young people the skills they need to help them find a job or start their own business.

For 2021-2024 we have chosen to support Kiva, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to expand financial access and help underserved communities around the world thrive.

Case study – Kiva

Dedicated to helping individuals in underserved communities around the world.

Unleashing the potential with Kiva

Kiva’s mission ties in perfectly with our company’s values and our business. Just as we enable clients to invest, grow and thrive anywhere in the world, Kiva’s mission is to expand financial access and help underserved communities thrive.

Their unique micro-lending platform leverages the power of technology to connect people who can give a little to people who stand to gain a lot. It cuts across wealth and geographic divides and has already delivered more than $1.5 billion in funding to 3.8 million borrowers.

Through Kiva’s work, women can start businesses, farmers are able to invest in equipment and families can pay for their children’s tuition. Watch this inspiring video to find out more.

Our employees choose the Kiva borrowers they want to invest in – selecting the location, sector or cause that inspires them. Once the loan is repaid – and 97% of them are – the money is returned to us to be lent again. Kiva automatically tracks our collective impact as a company and how this aligns with our ESG ambitions. Together we are changing lives and making a difference!
